"not the center" is a performance collective formed by Cèlia Tort Pujol, Amarante Nat, Roma Gavryliuk, Leonie Strecker, and Myrthe Bokelmann. They work in the field of site-specific performance, exploring and interacting with the site through sound and movement. The collective was founded after they met at the ChampdAction.LabO 2021 artistic residency. After the successful premiere of their first work "iquids. lines" at DeSingel International Art Center in Antwerp, Belgium, they continued working together and actively taking part in international residencies and festivals. They were invited to create a new work for the ChampdAction Festival in 2022, as well as they performed a piece "Digital Doppelgänger" written by Chonglian Yu at Muziekgebouw Amsterdam and Korzo Theater in Hague. Their third work was created in terms of Nástupište 1-12 residency in Topolchany, Slovakia. Since 2023 they started a collaboration with digital artist and researcher Frederik De Bleser, exploring the possibilities of artistic interconection between the human body, radio waves, and sound.
