about
The project "Fenni" was founded in October 2023 to explore improvisational possibilities at the intersection of experimental and popular electronic music and was first presented to the public on 1 February 2024. Making extensive use of experimental vocal techniques and analogue electronic instruments, the duo has developed its own distinctive sound. Martin Bous’s voice, combined with non-conventional electronic music techniques such as real-time feedback processing, the use of delay lines and analogue filtering, gives a new perspective on the place of the voice in the ensemble, and the voice as an instrument in general. Through the use of professional vocal techniques, the voice is represented in its extremes and gives the opportunity to look at it from a new perspective. The basis of the performance is the use of an analogue drum computer operated and programmed in real time to explore the improvisational possibilities and flexibility of this electronic instrument. A distinctive feature of the project's sound is the use of the aforementioned real-time feedback processing technique, polished and balanced over many sessions held at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustic Graz, Roma Gavrilyuk's alma mater.
